The Simpson Strong-Tie ABU SS with Type 316L Stainless Steel Corrosion Resistance is an adjustable post base for nominal size 6 x 6 post offers moisture protection and a finished hardware appearance. The ABU SS features 1" standoff height above concrete floors which is code-required when supporting permanent structures that are exposed to the weather or water splash, or in basements. They reduce the potential for decay at post and column ends.
Type 316L Connector Stainless Steel Information
Type 316L stainless steel is a nickel-chromium austenitic grade of stainless steel with 2-3% Molybdenum. Type 316L stainless steel is not hardened by heat treatment and is inherently nonmagnetic. It provides a level of corrosion protection suitable for severe environments, especially environments with chlorides. Type 316L stainless-steel fasteners are compliant with the 2012 and 2015 IBC and IRC.
